Wisdom from an anonymous elder:
“My son, make a list of people for whom you would like me to pray, and I will remember them during the Divine Liturgy.”
[Later] “Here is the list, Father.”
Elder, looking over the names: “Is any one of these your enemy?”
“Why, no, Father.”
Elder, with a sigh, handing the list back: “My son, it doesn’t work this way. It’s no good praying only for your friends and not your enemies.”
