For today’s appointed Gospel reading, here’s the shortest sermon I’ve got:
“This kind can come forth by nothing but by prayer and fasting,” our Lord says. But what does He NOT do? He does not go aside and pray and fast. Daily prayer and fasting twice a week were already His way of life, and so His mouth was already full of wisdom and authority.
Go and do likewise.
