There's a beautiful description of God in the Old Testament to which I intentionally return as often as I can remind myself. It appears seven times. Once in the Law, once in Writings, three times in the Psalms and twice in the Prophets.
The LORD is gracious and compassionate
Slow to anger
And abounding in steadfast love (hesed)
