I’ve had roasted peanuts, boiled peanuts, peanuts in Coke… but until today I never tried fresh peanuts.
Today on a road trip in Transylvania, we stopped at a fruit-and-vegetable store for a snack on the way to the monastery.
“What are those?”
“Peanuts.”
“No, those.”
Impression: A green, raw-legume flavor, almost completely unlike the familiar taste of roasted peanuts. But strangely compelling – I ate them all before we arrived at our destination!
