Prosperity. Social justice. Moralism. Eschatology. Church growth. Canonical exactness. Culture wars. So many concerns to claim our fragmented attention, compelling us to focus on building a kingdom in this world.
Don’t blame Hollywood, media, or strange religions for our generation’s self-imposed blindness to the day when “we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ” (2 Co 5:10). Christians are willingly putting the blinders on.
All too soon we run out of time. We have not yet even begun to be saved from our sins here and now, and suddenly there is no longer any more here and now. “Fool! This day your soul is required of you” (Lk 12:20).
“How shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation?” (Heb 2:3)
